​​​​​Aim of Library

Tompi Seleka College of Agriculture Library aims to develop and maintain a library system that will serve the college community. The library's function is to support and enhance the study programme and specially to provide access to the books and audio-visuals materials mostly in the field of agriculture and other related fields to support teaching, learning and research. It also preserves previous TSCA examination papers which can be copied in the photocopy area.

Membership

Every person who needs to use library have to register. Membership is limited to all staff members from LDARD and registered students. Users need to fill in and sign declaration forms and they should bring along their student card or ID card. Members of the public are allowed to access library services; however, they will be treated as day visitors.

07H30 – 16H30 during the week

Closed during weekends and public holidays


Prescribed Books

Prescribed books are essential for the successful completion of the diploma programme in the college. The college has limited prescribed books and students are encouraged to buy their own books. No reservations can be made for prescribed books.

Recommended

The library has recommended books and audio-visuals materials mostly in the field of agriculture and other related fields to support teaching, learning and research.

Library Resources

The library has articles, periodicals and journals which can used be for references. These materials may not be taken out of the library, it can only be used in the library for a maximum of two hours.

Issuing of Library Books

A maximum of 3 books may be issued to a student at a time for a period of 14 days, while a maximum of 6 books for 90 days to academic staff. A maximum of 6 books can be issued to support staff for 14 days. Members of the public are not allowed to borrow library books

Return and Renewal of Library Books

Books must be returned promptly on or before the expiry date as shown on the slip inside the front cover of the book. A book may be renewed twice personally, telephonically or through email. Books must be renewed on or before the expiry date in order to avoid penalties. Student or staff member who terminated from the college must return all books prior to termination date.

Penalties

Students/ staff member failing to return the library book/s within the stipulated period will be charged in accordance with the college tariffs determined by the department in an annual basis. Lost or damaged book/s will be charged according to the current price in the market (retailers). Results will be held for students who failed to return library books or materials.
